JX Fund invites established independent exiled media outlets from Belarus and Russia to apply for financial support to help ensure sustainable operations in exile.The funding amount is €35,000 for the period of June – September 2026.
Thematics
The funders place particular emphasis on:
- the public interest mission of the media outlet;
- editorial independence and ethical standards;
- the ability to reach audiences inside the country of origin;
- the long-term sustainability and resilience of operations.
Eligibility
- Only media acting in accordance with the Munich Declaration of the Duties and Rights of Journalists are eligible.
- Only media outlets that have demonstrably produced content continuously for at least one year are eligible.
- The media outlet must have a proven audience in the country of origin. Purely diaspora-focused media outlets are not eligible.
- Purely activist or human rights projects are not eligible.
- Media outlets that are or have been primarily affiliated with a state actor, politically exposed person, or political party are not eligible.

- Only organizations registered as not for profit entities can apply. Applications of private persons and for-profit entities cannot be considered.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate:
- a clear understanding of their financial situation;
- the extent to which their current budget is secured;
- realistic funding strategies for the near future.
