Exile Hub has now opened applications for its Feminist Storytelling Grant 2026. The Storytelling Grant is designed to empower individuals and feminist networks and organizations to use narrative as a tool for advocacy, awareness, and protection.

Successful applications combine compelling storytelling with clear human rights objectives, strong implementation plans, and a commitment to ethical and impactful documentation. The total amount for this grant is $2000.

Thematics

The grant will support feminist storytelling that:

  • Challenges gender norms and patriarchal structures
  • Centers marginalized voices and experiences
  • Explores themes of rights, mental health, resilience, gender justice, reproductive health and rights
  • Highlights LGBTQI+ Experiences and Perspectives
  • Documents the struggles and triumphs of women and gender-diverse individuals)
  • Promotes intersectional understanding of gender issues

Formats may include:

  • Visual storytelling (photography, film, animation)
  • Infographics
  • Graphic narratives
  • Written works (essays, poetry, fiction)
  • Audio storytelling (podcasts, radio plays)
  • Performance-based storytelling (theater, dance)
  • Digital and interactive storytelling

Eligibility 

Exile Hub is inviting storytellers who are ready to use their craft as a tool for resistance, reflection, and transformative change. It seeks applications from members of Myanmar communities in exile who are working as:

  • Filmmakers & Photographers
  • Artists & Designers
  • Multimedia Creators
  • Journalists & Writers
