- Eligibility Criteria: Open to staff and freelance journalists with ambitious project-based reporting proposals. Applications are accepted in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Bahasa Indonesia. Teams that reflect the communities they report on are encouraged. Not eligible: books (unless a story will be published independently), feature-length films, staff salaries (except certain fellowships), equipment purchases (rentals may be considered), general outlet expenses, start-up seed money, routine breaking news, advocacy campaigns, or purely academic data projects.
