Environmental Investigative Journalism 2025

• Eligibility Criteria: Open to cross-border teams of at least two professional journalists and/or news outlets legally residing in at least two different countries, Teams must publish in at least two media outlets in different countries, with at least one being a European outlet targeting European audiences, Applications must include a hypothesis, proposed methodology, and detailed budget, Incomplete applications (missing documents such as IDs, CVs, articles of incorporation, etc.) will be considered ineligible.
• Type of Funding: Grants for cross-border investigative journalism projects focused on environmental issues linked to European interests.
• Target Region: Global
• Application Language: Applications submitted via Journalismfund Europe’s application portal.

Objectives

To support cross-border investigative journalism uncovering illegal, unreported, and unregulated environmental issues linked to European interests, fostering impactful reporting that transcends borders and informs European audiences.

Financial Support: €400,000 available per call, distributed among all supported investigations
