Civitates is seeking a dynamic Impact and Learning Manager to strengthen its mission of defending and promoting democracy and civic space in Europe. This newly created role will drive collective learning, evidence-based decision-making, and impactful communication—bridging data, reflection, and storytelling to showcase results, support grantees, and shape strategy across Civitates’ three sub-funds: Civic Power, Tech & Democracy, and Media.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the fund’s impact and tracking frameworks across all sub-funds.
- Coordinate data gathering and reporting with grantee partners and team members.
- Maintain up-to-date datasets, analyze quantitative and qualitative data, and inform grant renewal and exit decisions.
- Support Senior Programme Managers in reviewing grantee capacity-building initiatives.
- Collate and present learning data to inform strategic and operational decisions.
- Curate tools, resources, and products to support reflection and learning.
- Organize and facilitate learning workshops, webinars, and sessions for staff, partners, and stakeholders.
- Prepare clear, actionable impact and learning reports for internal and external use.
- Document case studies and stories of change to highlight grantee impact and fund-level insights.
- Provide evidence and data to strengthen fundraising and communication products.
- Support partners in strengthening their impact tracking and learning practices through coaching and technical support.
- Organize and facilitate MEL-focused sessions at grantee convenings.
- Contribute to the design of convening agendas to maximize peer learning and skills development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, international development, public policy, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 5–7 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning roles, ideally within philanthropic or nonprofit organisations in Europe.
- Strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative impact tracking tools.
- Proven ability to design and implement impact and learning systems.
- Excellent analytical and data visualization skills (Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
- Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities.
- Fluency in English.
