Code for Africa (CfA) is seeking a full-time bilingual Community Coordinator (French and English) to join its Communities team. The role focuses on managing and expanding CfA’s flagship Communities of Practice (CoP) across Africa, including africanDRONE, African Fact-Checking Alliance (AFCA), Hacks/Hackers, sensors.AFRICA (EcoSense Collective), WanaData, and the African Wikipedian Alliance (AWA).
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage CfA’s pan-African community activities and events, both online and offline.
- Foster community engagement and maintain sustainable relationships with members, partners, and stakeholders.
- Facilitate training, mentorship, and fellowship programmes.
- Monitor and evaluate programme effectiveness and incorporate feedback for improvement.
- Develop and deliver communications materials, presentations, and engagement plans.
- Maintain community databases and report on activities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in community management or a related field.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including journalists, technologists, and researchers.
- Strong bilingual communication skills in French and English (written and verbal).
- Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Slack, Google Drive, and Trello.
- Experience facilitating training and mentoring sessions.
