Technical Expertise Mission on Media in Exile

CFI – the French media development agency – is launching a call for tenders as part of the European Union-funded AGILE project, which supports independent media operating in environments where press freedom is under threat. This opportunity invites experts to lead a technical mission focused on media in exile, with a strong emphasis on capacity-building and resilience.

The mission involves designing and implementing regional incubators for exiled and at-risk media outlets in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. These incubators will offer customized support, mentorship, and training to strengthen the capacities and sustainability of these organizations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a technical expertise mission focusing on media in exile.
• Design and implement regional incubators tailored to the needs of exiled and at-risk media outlets.
• Develop and deliver mentorship, training, and capacity-strengthening programs.
• Contribute to strategic planning and knowledge-sharing with partners and stakeholders involved in the AGILE project.

Eligibility Criteria

• Proven experience in media development, press freedom, and/or working with exiled or at-risk media.
• Strong background in designing and managing capacity-building programs in international contexts.
• Familiarity with media landscapes and press freedom challenges in Africa, Asia, or Latin America.
• Ability to work remotely with occasional international travel.
