CFI – the French Media Development Agency and a subsidiary of France Médias Monde – is recruiting a Project Manager for its Mediterranean-Asia Department. This is a unique opportunity to design and lead a high-impact media development project that promotes peace, dialogue, and freedom of expression in one of the world’s most complex and sensitive regions.
Launching in early 2025, the project aims to support independent Palestinian and Israeli journalists and media outlets, facilitate spaces for dialogue and collaboration, and combat disinformation across the region.
Eligibility Criteria
- A Master’s degree (Bac +4/5) in political science, international relations, international development, or related fields.
- Proven experience in international cooperation or development projects, particularly in the media, governance, or democracy sectors.
- At least two years of professional experience related to the Middle East and/or conflict-affected zones.
- Strong understanding of the socio-political context and conflicts in the Middle East, particularly the Israeli-Palestinian context.
- Previous field experience in international cooperation projects, ideally in the Middle East.
- Experience with conflict prevention or resilience-building initiatives is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with project management of public aid programs funded by international donors (e.g., AFD, EU, USAID).
- Experience managing EU-funded grants or service contracts is a plus.
- Experience in managing consortium projects.
- Proficiency in project design and monitoring tools, including budget and administrative tracking.
- Strong skills in legal, financial, and administrative management.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility, autonomy, and attention to detail.
- Capacity to work collaboratively in multicultural teams and under tight deadlines.
- A sensitivity to gender issues and inclusive approaches.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Experience using ERP systems (e.g., Sage).
Key Responsibilities
- Design, launch, and implement the project, including writing the project proposal, logical framework, and budget.
- Plan all project activities, including communication, evaluation, and partnerships.
- Recruit and manage external experts and partners through contractual negotiation and coordination.
- Oversee needs assessments and preliminary studies, including drafting terms of reference and ensuring quality delivery.
- Lead implementation of activities on the ground, coordinating with stakeholders, beneficiaries, and experts.
- Ensure regular updates in project management software and maintain organized documentation.
- Produce project reports (interim and final), synthesis documents, and budgetary updates according to donor timelines.
- Coordinate both internal and external project teams and ensure smooth collaboration.
- Represent CFI with external partners and donors; lead working groups and project committees.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and adapt implementation schedules based on the field context.
- Supervise project communication strategy, ensuring donor visibility and promotion of project milestones.
- Monitor project budgets, draft financial reports, and manage procurement and contract processes.
- Participate in field missions to support project preparation, follow-up, evaluation, and stakeholder engagement.
