News Corp Media Fellowship for Digital Innovation offers international journalists an immersive experience in leading digital newsrooms. Fellows will learn firsthand how top media outlets navigate the evolving journalism landscape and apply these insights to transform their own newsrooms. This hands-on program includes shadowing reporters and editors, expert briefings, and training on digital journalism trends.

Since 2014, ICFJ and News Corp have partnered to bring journalists from Africa, India, Mexico, and Russia to prestigious newsrooms such as The Wall Street Journal (New York & London) and The Times (London). Past fellows have launched newsroom data teams, introduced digital innovations, and applied new storytelling techniques in their media organizations.

Objectives
  • Provide journalists with hands-on experience in leading digital newsrooms.
  • Equip fellows with digital journalism skills, including audience engagement, data journalism, and innovative storytelling.
  • Foster collaborations between fellows and leading media organizations.
  • Support newsroom transformation through digital strategies and project-based learning.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Open to English-speaking journalists and editors worldwide.
  • Applicants should have experience in data journalism, audience engagement, or digital storytelling.
  • Candidates must be currently working in a newsroom.
  • Strong news sense, curiosity, and collaboration skills are required.
