World Press Institute Fellowship

The World Press Institute Fellowship 2025 is a prestigious program designed to advance journalistic excellence by providing international journalists with an immersive experience in the U.S. media landscape. Selected fellows engage with top media professionals, explore pressing political and social issues, and gain first-hand insight into the role of a free press in a democracy.

Objectives

• Provide journalists with direct exposure to the U.S. media, culture, and governance.
• Foster professional development through meetings with media experts, policymakers, and advocacy organizations.
• Encourage cross-cultural learning and engagement with pressing global issues.

Eligibility Criteria

• A minimum of five years of full-time news experience.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Demonstrated commitment to journalistic excellence and ethical reporting.

Program Benefits:

• Travel & Accommodation: Roundtrip airfare to the U.S. and travel within the country covered.
• Lodging: Comfortable accommodations provided for the entire duration.
• Daily Allowance: Fellows receive a stipend for meals and personal expenses.
• Note: Personal expenses such as phone bills, postage, and clothing are the responsibility of the fellow.

Fellowship Responsibilities

• Fully participate in all scheduled events and discussions.
• Write for the WPI website and other assigned platforms.
• Engage in reviews, evaluations, and roundtable discussions.
• Maintain a professional and respectful approach to cultural diversity.
