The International Fund for Public Interest Media (IFPIM) is looking for a Senior Communications Associate to support its global mission of strengthening independent journalism. This role is ideal for a creative and experienced communications professional passionate about public interest media and its role in democracy.

The Senior Communications Associate will work within a small, dynamic team to enhance IFPIM’s visibility, media outreach, and resource mobilization efforts. This role involves developing impact-driven content, managing media relationships, and creating engaging audiovisual materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write and contribute to flagship reports, press releases, impact stories, case studies, presentations, and speeches.
  •  Develop a journalist database and strengthen media relationships in donor and grantee countries.
  • Coordinate short videos, photo essays, and animated content for social media, website, and events.
  • Website & Social Media Management: Ensure regular updates and engaging content across IFPIM’s digital platforms.
  •  Lead promotional efforts, media outreach, and speaker support for flagship events.
  •  Work with regional teams to align communication strategies with grant-making efforts.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in communications, media outreach, or a related field, ideally in nonprofits or international organizations.
  • Strong understanding of media relations and strategic storytelling.
  • Experience in developing audiovisual content for digital and social platforms.
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Passion for public interest journalism and media development.
  • English fluency required; French or Spanish is a plus.
