Public Interest Journalism Funding Europe

• Eligibility Criteria: This call is open to media organizations based in Hungary, Poland, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Croatia. Applicants should be focused on producing high-quality, independent journalism that supports democratic values, combats disinformation, and promotes public dialogue. The selected organizations should demonstrate the capacity for organizational sustainability, innovation in business models, and active audience engagement.

Objectives

The goal is to strengthen independent journalism in Europe, particularly media that contributes to democratic discourse and public interest. Funding will support media outlets in areas such as organizational sustainability, editorial development, and improving audience engagement, particularly in the context of democratic governance and the fight against disinformation.
