BIRN invites applications for the position of Digital Rights Monitor for Croatia. This role is integral to BIRN’s Digital Rights Programme, focusing on identifying, documenting, and analyzing digital rights violations.
The Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) is a prominent network of non-governmental organizations committed to promoting freedom of speech, human rights, and democratic values in Southeast and Central Europe. Established in 2005, BIRN champions peace and justice through high-quality journalism, capacity building, and reform-driven initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and document digital rights violations and legislative changes in Croatia.
- Contribute to regional and country-specific reports, articles, investigations, and policy briefs.
- Collaborate with a team of digital rights monitors from nine other countries, providing a cross-regional perspective.
- Support advocacy efforts and strategy development for improving digital rights in Croatia.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in journalism, digital rights, law, media studies, or a related field.
- Proven interest and experience in human and/or digital rights projects.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
