- Eligibility Criteria
This grant, funded by the EJN, is open to journalists residing in low- and middle-income countries in South Asia, East Asia, and the Pacific. Journalists from marginalized communities will be prioritized. Applicants must demonstrate experience in reporting on climate and environmental issues. Freelance reporters and staff from all types of media organizations, including international, national, local, and community-based outlets, are encouraged to apply. - Type of Funding: Story Grants

Objectives
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers story grants to support the production of solutions-focused reporting on climate and environmental challenges in the Asia-Pacific region. The grants aim to support stories that evaluate and highlight scalable solutions that build community resilience to climate change and environmental degradation.
Project Themes
- Community-led environmental solutions.
- Government policies and private sector interventions for climate resilience.
- Stories addressing the intersection of health, environment, and climate.
- Solutions to climate challenges impacting marginalized communities.
- Investigations into false solutions and climate delayism narratives.
Additional Information
- In addition to funding, selected journalists will receive mentorship and training in solutions journalism.
- Stories should aim for publication by 31 July 2025.
- Grantees must acknowledge EJN support in their published stories.
- The application process accepts proposals from journalists who have a working understanding of English.
Financial Support: Up to US$2000 per grant. 15-20 grants will be awarded.
Deadline: Applications are due by 3 February 2025, 11:59 PM (Pacific/Niue).
