IOM’s Department Media and Communications Unit (DMC) seeks to hire a Head of Creativity Unit (Branding and Audiovisual).
Under direct supervision of the Director of Department of Media and Communications, the Head of Creativity Unit (Branding and Audiovisual) will be responsible and accountable for the formulation, management and implementation of creative communication strategies to promote IOM and raise awareness of migration in the media and among the general public.
Responsibilities
- Manage, provide advice and expertise, and supervise the graphic design and branding, the multimedia teams, and project managers in the strategic development of messaging and content.
- Oversee and approve suitable graphic design (social media card, infographics etc) and AV products designed and produced to support the institutional visibility and media engagement efforts of the newsroom.
- Review, edit, revise and approve content developed by the creative teams, ensuring that deliverables address marketing goals and challenges effectively.
- Plan, lead and oversee the production of fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling graphic and digital experiences for a variety of audiences.
- Commission, script, produce and direct video clips of the Senior Management Team for broadcast at IOM and other events worldwide and web posting.
- Coordinate creative content development output with headquarters (HQs) departments, including the development of promotional materials.
- Provide expert technical advice and assistance to field missions in the development of graphic and audio visual materials.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Media Communications or Public Information or a related field from an accredited academic institution with seven years of relevant professional experience; or,
- University degree in the above fields with nine years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in corporate brand management and graphic design elements
- Fluency in video, photography and graphic design software, such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign;
- Excellent oral and visual communication skills, with an ability to explain complex matters in an informative, inspiring and motivational way;
- Good understanding of communication campaigns and tools, including engaging audiences via social media and other digital channels;
- Ability to transmit information and guidance to team members in a clear and strategic manner;
- Work strategically to reach the Unit’s goals and improve its outputs quality and reach; and,
- Ability to assume responsibility for own tasks and delegated work, ensuring its timely delivery.
