National Survey on Journalists’ Mental Health (Brazil)

Status: Open

Organisation: National Federation of Journalists (FENAJ)

Deadline: Ongoing

Location: Online

The National Federation of Journalists (FENAJ), in partnership with the Jorge Duprat Figueiredo Foundation for Occupational Health and Safety (Fundacentro), has initiated a national survey focused on the mental health of journalists in Brazil.

The objective of the national survey on journalists’ mental health is to identify variables associated with mental suffering in the exercise of the profession, aiming to develop policies that protect these professionals.

With this survey project, FENAJ and its 31 affiliated unions, together with Fundacentro, aim to identify impacts, which should contribute to supporting parallel research already taking place in the field of mental health and work.

The results will help to formulate union policies and negotiations with employers, aiming to improve general and subjective working conditions. The aim is to encourage the creation of new laws that protect workers from harassment and pressure, resulting in the improvement of collective mental health.
