The Internews in Kazakhstan has announced a grant competition for the creation of content in Kazakh and/or Russian languages.
The goal of the grant competition is to support media projects that address current issues that remain outside the focus of Kazakhstani media. Priority will be given to projects that contribute to solving problems faced by vulnerable social groups (youth, rural residents, etc.), combating disinformation in general and specifically in the healthcare sector, as well as breaking societal stereotypes.
Eligible Projects
- Your content must comply with journalism and media ethics standards and include elements of fact-checking and data verification.
- The submitted project must be relevant and useful for society, and presented in the most effective format from the point of view of the target audience. For example, it could be a series of analytical materials on the pros and cons of significant events, animated videos with scientific fact-checking of common stereotypes, or multimedia long reads on the following topics: debunking myths and fears about vaccination, the problem of growing antimicrobial resistance, society’s readiness for outbreaks of various infections, and other topics related to global health security.
Ineligible Projects
Internews does not support government organisations or media participating in government grants with similar content. They also do not support the creation of websites, feature films, TV series, social videos, travel blogs, music videos, and educational courses.
Funding Information
- The maximum grant amount is 3 million tenge for small format
- The maximum grant amount is 8 million tenge for large format
- Duration: small format is 3-5 months
- Duration: large format is 6-9 months
