Somali Women in Media (SOMWIM) is a non-profit organisation committed to increasing the visibility of women in media and society, while promoting their leadership and decision-making capacities. The organisation focuses on empowering female journalists to better understand and report on women’s issues, while working to break down stereotypes associated with women.
SOMWIM’s mission is to advance women’s representation and leadership in the media by raising awareness and influencing policy changes within media houses to create equal opportunities.
