The independent analytical center Expert-Grup in partnership with the Institute for European Policies and Reforms, has launched a grant competition to select 5 media organisations for the project “Strengthening Consumer Protection in the Republic of Moldova.”

The main goal of the project is to raise awareness and ensure the enforcement of consumer rights in Moldova. It aligns with the broader objective of enhancing the capacity of civil society organisations in implementing the association agreement, particularly at the local level, as consumer protection is a key aspect of the European integration process. Specifically, it supports Lot 2 of the call for proposals: promoting consumer protection through advocacy.

Project Objectives

The project will achieve its goals through two specific objectives:

  • Government capacity: Enhance the Moldovan government’s ability to enforce consumer protection laws in line with EU standards, primarily through technical assistance aimed at accelerating the harmonisation process.
  • Consumer empowerment: Increase consumer knowledge and advocacy skills by empowering the media and civil society to promote consumer rights and raise public awareness.
Funding Information

This call aims to select 5 media organisations to receive sub-grants of up to EUR 15,000 each, supporting communication and awareness activities across Moldova.
