The Friedrich Naumann Foundation is pleased to invite proposals for the production of a documentary that will capture the significance of its ongoing work in Bhutan.

The FNF documentary will showcase the tangible benefits of Friedrich Naumann Foundation initiatives, featuring testimonials from media professionals, civil society organisations (CSOs), parliamentarians, youth, and women.

Since its partnership with the Bhutan Media Foundation (BMF) in 2021, FNF has focused on addressing the challenges faced by Bhutan’s institutions in creating media literacy in Bhutan. These efforts include providing training for media students, nuns, monks, and CSOs on responsible social media use, as well as organising study tours and international training programs to enhance Bhutan’s visibility and democratic capacity.

Scope

The selected contractor will be responsible for the following:

  • Concept Development: Collaborate with FNF to refine the documentary’s focus and narrative.
  • Filming: Capture high-quality footage in Bhutan, including interviews with key stakeholders such as media professionals, CSO leaders, parliamentarians, youth, and women.
  • Editing: Produce a polished documentary that effectively conveys the importance of FNF’s work in Bhutan.
  • Post-Production: Ensure the final product meets professional standards, including sound, color correction, and subtitling where necessary.
Expected Deliverables

A 20-30-minute documentary film that highlights:

  • The importance of FNF’s continued engagement in Bhutan.
  • The tangible impact of FNF’s initiatives on various sectors within Bhutan.
  • Testimonials from key beneficiaries, including media professionals, CSOs, parliamentarians, youth, and women.
Eligibility

Interested parties are invited to submit a proposal that includes:

  • A brief overview of the production company or individual’s experience in documentary filmmaking, particularly in the context of development work or democratic governance.
  • A proposed timeline for completing the project, including key milestones.
  • A detailed budget breakdown.
  • Examples of previous work relevant to this project.
