The Global Feminist Pitch supports young feminists from countries of the Global South with the aim to make solidarities between feminists and feminist movements worldwide visible through different formats.
In 2024-2025, the Global Feminist Pitch will give five feminists from Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Middle East or (South) Eastern Europe the chance to document feminist protest culture from their region in the form of a 15-minute documentary film that will be produced by Deblokada Production from Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and become part of a film omnibus/anthology film.
Eligibility
- You are between 25 and 35 years old;
- You come from Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Middle East or (South) Eastern Europe;
- You have a good command of the English language;
- You are an aspiring documentary filmmaker with the relevant experience and background;
- You have the necessary equipment for filming (picture and sound);
- You have a feminist background and you have worked on feminist issues before;
- You have the interest and time to be a part of the Global Feminist Pitch until August 2025.
Selection
Five feminist filmmakers from Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Middle East, and (South) Eastern Europe with the best proposals and the relevant experience will be selected to participate in the Global Feminist Pitch. The five feminist filmmakers will receive:
- the agreed honorarium as a compensation for their work;
- the assistance of the Global Unit for Feminism and Gender Democracy and Deblokada Production throughout the duration of the Global Feminist Pitch;
- the possibility to participate in online workshops, learn from experts in the industry, and connect with other feminist filmmakers from different parts of the world;
- the possibility to have their 15-minute documentary film be part of a film omnibus, produced by Deblokada Production and released by the Global Unit for Feminism and Gender Democracy.
