Visual Journalist Intern

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is looking for a visual journalist intern who will be supervised by the Studio department manager. They are seeking an intern in visual journalism / graphics / Motion Designer within the “RSF Studio”.

Responsibilities

As visual journalist intern, you will:

• Participate in the development of the RSF graphic charter
• Suggest graphic and animated developments or formats
• Create motion design template to add to videos
• Participate in the reflection on new modes of visual narration (Carousel, long video teaser, animated infographics, animated video maps, voice-over video with only animation, etc.)
• Participate, using the Adobe Pro suite, in the creation of visuals and video animations for social networks and the website.
• Create visuals/montages to illustrate the articles
• Create visuals/montages for social networks
• Create thumbnails for Youtube videos
• Create visuals for posters, signs, reports, surveys, stickers, etc.
• Participate in statistical reports on the content of the various accounts on Reporters Without Borders social networks.
• Carry out graphic monitoring (media, NGOs, etc.)
• Be involved in the administration of their website
• Participate in the integration and updating of visuals and photos on the website.

Required skills

• Proficiency in the Adobe Suite for graphics and video editing
• Motion design (After effects animation)
• Calibration skills are a plus
• Excellent knowledge of social platforms, strong appetite for the production of visuals, animation and videos
• Perfect French
• Fluent written English

• From or in the process of higher education specialized in the field of communication, journalism, graphics/animation.
• Committed, you wish to deepen your skills while acting for a cause that is close to your heart.
• A good knowledge of YouTube would be a plus.
• You are looking for a 6-month internship.
• Creative, dynamic, curious, rigorous, with an appetite for social media and graphic forms of information, you enjoy working in a team and internationally.
