Thomson Reuters Foundation is seeking a Regional Project Coordinator who will support the Media Freedom Coalition’s (MFC) activities in Southeast Asia, with a primary focus on the Embassy Networks Initiative.

The role involves coordinating meetings, information exchange, and activities between MFC member embassies, civil society representatives, and other stakeholders in the region. The Regional Project Coordinator will also track progress, provide support, and share updates on media freedom issues, promote embassy engagement, and maintain a database of MFC member embassy activities.

Responsibilities

In this opportunity as the Regional Project Coordinator you will:

  • Coordinate meetings and information exchange between MFC member embassies and stakeholders
  • Track progress and provide support for media freedom activities
  • Share updates and alerts on media freedom issues
  • Promote embassy engagement and maintain a database of activities
  • Provide coordination support for events and other activities
  • Support knowledge capture and documentation
  • Participate in meetings and conferences with external stakeholders
Required skills

You’re a fit for this Regional Project Coordinator role if your background includes:

  • Prior experience in an administrative or coordination role
  • Experience working with civil society organisations
  • Understanding of media freedom issues in Southeast Asia
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Pro-active self-starting and problem-solving attitude
  • Systematic approach to work and ability to identify process improvements
  • At least 2 years’ working experience and fluency in English (other languages desirable)

It would be useful if you also have:

  • Experience of working with government officials (at any level)
  • Experience working effectively as part of a remote team on collaborative initiatives, including across different time zones
