Financial Support for Exiled Media from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine

• Eligibility Criteria
  – Applicant must be a media outlet from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine;
  – Media outlets from Russia need to have a connection to Germany.

The JX Fund invites media from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine to apply for financial support for securing a sustainable operation of media in exile.

Please note that media outlets from Russia need to have a connection to Germany. This connection can be proven, for example, if the editorial office is located in Germany or is planning to relocate to Germany, or if some of the employees or permanent freelancers are based in Germany. A registered legal entity in Germany is not mandatory.

Funding Information

• Funding period: 1 May – 30 September 2024 (a shorter period is possible within this timeframe)
• Maximum amount: €50,000

• Salaries, fees (incl. taxes)
• Office / studio
• Technical equipment, software licenses
• Development of communication channels (e.g. website)
• Capacity building (e.g. SMM, fundraising, language courses)
• Consulting / services (e.g. lawyers, realtors, psychotherapists, business development coaches)
• Travel expenses
• Administrative expenses
