Media Diversity Institute Global (MDIG) is seeking a part-time finance and administrative officer (2.5 or 3 days a week) to join their team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience in bookkeeping, accountancy, and managing EU funds
- Good knowledge of the Belgian employment and social regulations and conditions
- High proficiency in using software systems such as Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, and/or Xero
- Ability to implement internal financial control systems and tools
- Previous experience in managing procurement of goods and services
- Knowledge of managing an office facility
- An genuine interest in the organisation and its mission is an asset
- Experience in managing payrolls and other employment and social measures
- Professional fluency in oral and written English and good knowledge of French. Additional EU languages would be an asset
Key Responsibilities
The finance and administrative officer will be responsible for various tasks, including but not limited to:
- Familiarity with European project reporting obligations and donor rules
- Knowledge of the Belgium tax system and obligations
- Bookkeeping, invoicing, and managing the bank account
- Managing payroll with Securex
- Monitoring cash flow and other administrative tasks
Additional Details
- The successful candidate can work remotely although people are encouraged to come to the office at least once or twice a week.
- The offer is available for a 1-year contract with possible renewal subject to conditions.
