Call for applications: “Space for Freedom” program for exiled journalists

DW Akademie is launching a third edition of its support program for Afghan media professionals and journalists in Pakistan, Tajikistan, India, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Iran.

Participants, with mentoring, will get further qualifications through training and produce their own stories for possible publication by DW Dari and Pashto Service Commitment. Monthly stipend to cover basic living costs.

Who can apply: Mid-career Afghan journalists with a minimum of three years of proven work experience with Afghan independent media and who are residing in Pakistan, Tajikistan, India, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Iran. Applicants must have previously worked in Afghanistan as journalists and recently migrated to the above-mentioned countries of exile. Applicants must be native Dari or Pashto speakers and have access to a stable internet connection and are willing to continue working as media professionals.
