Free Press Unlimited is launching an opportunity for Jordanian media outlets to apply for core support through the media resilience grant, as part of their project “Media Action Jordan – MAJOR” supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The media resilience grants are available to Jordanian media with a primary focus – in their content and staff (including journalists and freelancers) – on reaching and informing audiences within Jordan.
The overall strategy of the project aims to:
The overall objective of the media resilience grant is to provide short-term, small-scale funding for projects that can advance new or scale up promising media outlets or innovations seeking to build their organizational capacity and financial sustainability.
Producing independent, relevant and inclusive content, these media outlets or initiatives should reach diverse and under-served audiences (e.g. teenagers and young adults, women and girls, marginalized communities and regions, people with a disability). The grant selection will pay specific attention to unusual suspects and embrace new entrants to the sector, with an emphasis on supporting innovative outlets and ideas that lead by example.
