There is widespread agreement that the EU has been acting as a trailblazer in digital regulation and is today shaping the global conversation on content moderation and the regulation of online disinformation. With the quick passing of the DSA, the adoption by platforms and advertisers of the first self-regulatory instrument on disinformation and its strengthened version in the 2022 Code of Practice, together with a number of draft legislative proposals including the AI Act and the Media Freedom Act, the EU has been approaching new frontiers of digital regulation also in the field of disinformation.
The current training aims to provide an introduction to EU policy on disinformation, including the most recent developments in the field, also seen through the lens of different players in the field, in particular the European Commission, European Regulators Group for Audiovisual Media Services (ERGA) and the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO).
Registration will be open until 3 May 2023 at 10:00 am CEST.
Target audience:
This training is aimed at relevant stakeholders who would like to learn more about recent EU policies to tackle disinformation, including government representatives, fact-checkers, researchers, media literacy practitioners, civil society organisations, and journalists.
