The “Support to individual human rights defenders and human rights organizations from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus” project is implemented by Human Rights House Yerevan and Human Rights House Foundation with the financial support of the European Union.
The goal of the project is to provide assistance to human rights defenders, human rights organizations, journalists, and media organizations who have relocated to the Republic of Armenia as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war and need support in adapting to the new realities and organizing their human rights work in Armenia.
The following grants are provided:
Emergency Grants
Up to 1,500 Euros, funding can be utilized to cover expenses such as:
Capacity building grants
Up to €5,000 are allotted for projects that are aimed at building necessary skills or developing policies (the project may also include a component of registering a legal entity in the Republic of Armenia). These grants should be focused on developing one or more
of the following capacities, but not limited to them:
Grants for advocacy campaigns
Up to €4,000 is allotted to assist individual human rights defenders and human rights organizations in countering disinformation, and funding is provided for implementing media campaigns, advocacy, and awareness-raising efforts.
These grants specifically target disinformation related to the Russian-Ukrainian war, its repercussions, and related issues.
Priority will be given to individual human rights defenders and human rights organizations that have not previously received support from this source.
Emergency grants will be announced on an ongoing basis without any set application deadlines. Applications will be reviewed, and a decision will be made within one week except for urgent cases, in which it will be reviewed and a decision will be made as expeditiously as possible.
The deadline for submitting applications for capacity building and advocacy campaigns is February 13, 2023.
