WAN-IFRA LAUNCHES SECOND SEASON OF MEDIA FREEDOM PODCAST

The World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) has recently launched the second season of its podcast The Backstory: A Media Freedom Podcast. The second season will be entirely devoted to examining in-depth the  many facets of the conversation around the safety of journalists. The Backstory attempts to raise some of the fundamental aspects of the safety conversation to its global listeners.

GFMD ATTENDS EU DISINFOLAB CONFERENCE IN BRUSSELS

On May 28-29, GFMD’s Anne Marie Hammer and Justine Marchal attended the EU DisinfoLab’s annual conference. Key experts presented the emotional and psychological mechanisms behind public susceptibility to disinformation, introduced research and findings related to the recent European election campaigns, and discussed viable options for regulation both nationally and internationally.

GFMD CAPACITY BUILDING WEBINAR: FUNDRAISING FOR MEDIA DEVELOPMENT

On June 25th at 16:00 CEST, GFMD will be hosting a members-only capacity-building webinar focusing on the challenges of fundraising for media development. The third instalment in GFMD’s ongoing Capacity-Building Programme, this event will focus on strategies for tapping into available funding streams for media development, including philanthropists and private foundations.
